In the interest of protecting surrounding neighborhoods from noise and possible drunk drivers, La Cañada Flintridge City Council members want to limit the hours that customers can buy alcohol from stores.

A conservative Republican, Russell served 32 years in the Legislature, including 10 years in the Assembly and 22 years in the Senate, where his district included Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge and part of Pasadena.
