Now that Christmas is past, La Cañada Flintridge residents looking to toss their trees before their homes turn into a pine needle storage facilities can put them out with the trash.

Free curbside pickup by local trash haulers Athens Services, Allied Waste and NASA Services started Wednesday, and will continue until Saturday, Jan. 19.

Trees should be put out on residents’ normal pick-up day. Trees covered in flocking or fire retardant will be accepted, but all other decorations, such as ornaments or stands, must be removed. Residents with questions should call their waste hauler: Athens Services (888) 336-6100, Allied Waste (888) 742-5234), or NASA Services (888) 888-0388.
