PTA ready for 'Halloween Haunt'
La Cañada Elementary School on Encinas Drive will be teeming with activity Saturday when the PTA stages the annual Halloween Haunt. Hours for the event are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is a family affair, with games, an obstacle course, costume contests and other activities for children and a tent full of silent-auction items to entice their parents. Food for all ages, including Korean barbecue, will be available for purchase.
According to organizers, some of the auction items are set visits to TV shows; vacation packages to Lake Arrowhead, Oxnard and Tucker’s Point Villa in Bermuda; a Mardi Gras party for 30 and Barefoot Contessa Recipe Party, premium seat Dodger tickets, “Yo Gabba Gabba” and Rush tickets; House of Blues Gospel Brunch; meals at Sakura or Taylor’s Steak House with an Ultra Magnum of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay.
The Halloween Haunt is the largest fundraiser for La Cañada Elementary and is open to the public. To learn more, visit www.lcepta.org.

Centerpieces are $65 each, and orders need to be received by Thursday, Nov. 8, for delivery on Monday, Nov. 19, to homes in La Cañada, La Crescenta, Pasadena, San Marino, Glendale, Tujunga and South Pasadena.
