The pilgrims and native Americans gathered at La Cañada Elementary on Nov. 19 for a Thanksgiving lunch..
La Cañada Elementary's fifth graders celebrated the decades-long school tradition by showing up in the school's cafeteria in costume for the Thanksgiving feast.
It was "lunch-and-a-show" on Friday as several La Cañada Elementary students performed songs during the meal.
Students assisted in preparing the meal on Nov. 18, helping make pumpkin pies, cornbread, homemade butter, cranberry relish and table decorations. And on Friday everyone was able to enjoy their fruits of their labor. The turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy were provided by a caterer.
