Leapin' Lizards! The sixth-grade class from Palm Crest Elementary School will stage the musical "Annie Jr." at 7 o'clock Thursday night at Lanterman Auditorium, 4491 Cornishon Ave.

Based on the comic strip “Little Orphan Annie,” this one-act show, written by Thomas Meehan, is rated for audiences of all ages. The music is by Charles Strouse and the lyrics by Martin Charnin. The lead character, Annie, escapes an orphanage and finds a new home with billionaire Oliver Warbucks and his personal secretary, Grace Farrell. She also becomes fast friends with a mutt named Sandy.

Admission is free and doors open at 6:40 p.m.
