“Now that our schools finally have seen some fiscal relief via our local parcel tax, we can work to help our schools get better instead of just get by,” stated Steve Ingrassia, president of the foundation.
Pending the foundation board’s approval, the $2.1 million raised from school families and community supporters in 2013-14 will be used during the 2014-15 school year to expand class reduction, bring back kindergarten aides at all elementary schools, retain current counselor positions at all schools and add a counselor at La Cañada High School, preserve all LCHS 7/8 elective offerings as well as add a new introduction to coding class, continue to provide weekly art, music, drama and Spanish at the elementary schools, and continue to support technology upgrades and curriculum integration and training.
Donations to the foundation are tax-deductible. To learn more, visit lcfef.org.
