New businesses in the Crescenta Valley area got to know their neighbors a little better on Wednesday night.

The 13th annual Foothills Community Business Expo at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital allowed residents to tour booths for about 67 local businesses and organizations and network with other professionals. The event attracted about 500 people.

Entertainment, food samples, refreshments and document shredding services rounded out the night. The Crescenta Valley, La Cañada Flintridge, and Montrose-Verdugo City chambers of commerce sponsored the event with the hospital.
