FOX 11 announced that the man who was found dead in Angeles National Forest was Martin Burns, an investigative writer and producer at the station, according to www.myfoxla.com.

A hiker spotted his body in a ravine on Sunday afternoon near Inspiration Point above Altadena, authorities said.

Members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Air Rescue 5 unit located the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene before he was airlifted to Farnsworth Park in Altadena, according to the Los Angeles Times.

A preliminary coroner's examination determined that he died from trauma sustained during a fall from a steep trail.

Martin's had an apparent accident while hiking alone, according to his colleagues, who shared memories of working him.
