A woman was hospitalized after she was attacked by bees following a minor car crash Sunday, authorities said.
The female driver was involved in a two-vehicle crash at Castle Road and Los Amigos Street around 3 p.m., KTLA reported
. Following the collision, the woman’s car slammed into a tree, aggravating a hive of bee that then swarmed and attacked her as she got out of her vehicle, Capt. Brian Kane of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
The woman escaped the bees by jumping into a nearby pool, where she remained until paramedics arrived, according to Kane.
She was taken to the hospital in stable condition, Kane said.
Southern California Edison crews were on the scene after the bee attack to repair the wires that the beehive was hanging from, Kane said.
