Foothill Municipal Water District announced this week it will host a free landscaping class, “Backyard Horticulture Especially in the Wildlife Urban Interface” from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 28. The class will be held in Loma Alta Park, 3330 Lincoln Ave., Altadena.

The presenter is Ellen Mackey, staff ecologist with the Metropolitan Water District and the Council for Watershed Health, who has converted her own backyard into an urban farm.
