In a showdown between highly-ranked heavyweights in CIF Southern Section Division V, the Crescenta Valley High and Pasadena Poly boys' water polo teams entered Tuesday afternoon separated by just one spot in the top-10 rankings. Scoring the game's first eight goals, the Pasadena Poly played arguably their finest match of the season en route to a resounding 17-7 throttling of Crescenta Valley at Poly in the teams' annual nonleague meeting.
