    I’m not a fan of Balboa Island. Too many people! Too many BMWs! And frankly, I don’t find the spirituality of sea, earth and sky there. Too many boutiques, cheap T-shirt vendors and electric cars! I am more inclined to love the Central Coast of California, north into the redwoods, and on into the Southern Oregon coast, and then north as far as Yachats. Regardless, I’m drawn to the sea. Its unfathomable nature is compelling, mysterious and wild. When there, I rarely have a thought that isn’t about the sea. I hardly call the environs of Balboa Island the sea.
